3 Traditional Remedies for Whitening Teeth: Advice and Instructions for Use

1 Miswak

Miswak, also known as siwak,
is a tooth cleaning stick that comes from
from the Salvadora persica tree. It is a method
popular and traditional for cleaning teeth
and freshen the breath. Miswak contains properties
natural antibacterial agents, which help prevent
plaque buildup and gum disease.
 

How to use miswak?



Soak the miswak in water for a few minutes to soften the hairs.

Hold the miswak in one hand and use the other hand to peel the bark from the tip to expose the hairs.

Brush your teeth with the bristles using circular motions for two to three minutes.

Rinse your mouth with water and spit out the saliva and foam.



Lemon juice



Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent and can help whiten teeth. However, it is important to use it with caution, as the acid in lemon juice can also damage tooth enamel if used excessively.

 

How to use lemon juice?

Mix fresh lemon juice with an equal amount of water.

Swish the mixture around your mouth for one to two minutes.

Spit out the mixture and rinse your mouth with water.

Do this once a day for one to two weeks maximum.




Baking soda



Baking soda is a mild abrasive that can help remove surface stains on teeth. It is also alkaline, which can help neutralize acid in the mouth and prevent tooth decay.

 

How to use baking soda?



Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with enough water to make a paste.

Dip your toothbrush in the paste and brush your teeth for two minutes.

Rinse your mouth with water and spit out the mixture.

Do this once a day for one to two weeks maximum.
